Pizza with white sauce and vegetables

Classic pizza with white sauce, lots of vegetables, and two types of cheese.

Pizza with white sauce and vegetables

Ingredients

500 g pizza dough
1 yellow bell pepper
1 red bell pepper
1 green bell pepper
1 cup sour cream
200 g Emmental cheese
200 g Cheddar cheese
1 cup mayonnaise
100 g carrots
100 g broccoli
100 g cream cheese
1 red onion
50 g mushrooms
50 g olives
1 tbsp parsley
1 pinch white pepper

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface to the desired thickness and place it in a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake the crust for about 10-12 minutes until golden and slightly crispy. Remove it from the oven and let it cool completely at room temperature.
  2. Prepare the sauce: in a bowl, mix 100 g cream cheese, 1 cup sour cream, and 1 cup mayonnaise. Add 1 pinch of white pepper and 1 tablespoon finely chopped parsley. Stir well until smooth and homogeneous.
  3. Roast the peppers: place the peppers on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil and roast in a preheated oven at 200°C for about 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until the skin is blackened and wrinkled. Immediately after removing from the oven, place them in a bowl, cover with foil, and let them steam for 10 minutes. Then peel the skin and remove the seeds.
  4. Prepare the vegetables: peel the carrots and slice them into thin rounds or small cubes. Break the broccoli into small florets. Boil the carrots and broccoli in salted boiling water for 2-3 minutes until they are slightly tender but remain crisp. Drain well and cool completely.
  5. Prepare the remaining vegetables: slice the red onion into thin crescents. Slice the mushrooms into thin slices. If using whole olives, slice them into rounds.
  6. Spread half of the prepared sauce over the pizza crust, leaving about 1 cm free edge.
  7. Distribute the sliced peppers, carrots, broccoli, onion, mushrooms, and olives evenly over the sauce. Reserve some of the roasted peppers and broccoli for garnish.
  8. Spread the remaining sauce over the rest of the crust.
  9. Sprinkle the pizza with grated Emmental and Cheddar cheeses.
  10. Arrange the reserved roasted peppers and broccoli on top for garnish.
  11. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for another 10-12 minutes until the cheeses are melted and golden.
  12. Remove the pizza from the oven and let it cool slightly for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
