Ingredients
5 potatoes
5 cubes of chicken bouillon
1 water
1 tsp garlic powder
1 pinch of nutmeg
1 cup sour cream
3 stalks of fresh green onion
black pepper
salt
Method
- Peel the 5 potatoes and cut them into cubes about 1 cm in size. This will help the potatoes cook evenly.
- In a large pot with a capacity of at least 2 liters, pour 1 liter of water and place it on high heat. Wait for the water to boil.
- When the water boils, add the 5 chicken bouillon cubes and stir until they dissolve completely. This will give the soup a rich flavor.
- Add the cubed potatoes to the pot. Reduce the heat to medium to maintain a gentle simmer.
- Season the soup to taste with salt and add a pinch of black pepper. Stir to distribute the seasonings evenly.
- Add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder and 1 pinch of nutmeg. Stir well.
- Cook the soup for about 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are completely tender. You can check the readiness by piercing a potato with a fork – it should go in easily.
- Chop 3 stalks of fresh green onion finely. You can use only the green part if you prefer a milder flavor.
- Reduce the heat to the lowest setting and add 1 cup of sour cream. Stir gently to avoid curdling the cream.
- Add the finely chopped fresh green onion to the soup and stir. Cook for another 5 minutes until the soup begins to simmer lightly and small bubbles appear on the surface.
- Taste the soup and add more salt or black pepper if necessary. Serve the soup hot.
