Baked Fried Noodles

Classic oven-fried noodles with walnuts and cinnamon.

Baked Fried Noodles

Ingredients

1 sheet of pasta
800 ml fresh milk
4-5 eggs
1/2 cow butter
1/2 cup ground walnuts
250 g sugar

Method

  1. Melt 1/2 package of butter in a skillet over medium heat. The butter is ready when it stops sizzling and turns golden.
  2. Pour 1 package of noodles into the melted butter and fry, stirring frequently, until golden, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add a pinch of salt and stir well. Continue frying for another 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add 250 g of sugar and stir until the sugar melts and the noodles turn brown. Be careful not to burn them.
  5. Pour 800 ml of fresh milk into the skillet and stir well. Reduce the heat to low and let it simmer gently for about 5 minutes, until the milk absorbs some of the noodles.
  6. Set aside 1 cup of fresh milk in a separate bowl. Separate 4-5 eggs and beat them well with a fork or whisk.
  7. Add the reserved cup of fresh milk to the beaten eggs and stir until smooth.
  8. Pour the noodles into a baking dish about 20x30 cm.
  9. Pour the egg-milk mixture evenly over the noodles.
  10. Sprinkle with 1/2 cup of ground walnuts.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C for about 25-30 minutes, until a golden crust forms on top.
  12. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
  13. Optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon or chocolate sticks before serving.
